Selection Process:

Candidates must meet the specific educational requirements for the trade they are applying for. The age limit for all posts is 18 to 42 years on the day of screening.

  • Soldier (General Duty):

    • Class 10th/Matric Pass: Minimum 45% marks in aggregate and 33% in each subject.

    • Grading System: Minimum ‘D’ Grade (33-40) in individual subjects and overall ‘C2’ grade.

  • Soldier (Clerk):

    • 10+2/Intermediate Pass: Arts, Commerce, or Science stream.

    • Marks: Minimum 60% aggregate and 50% in each subject.

    • Mandatory: Must have secured 50% in English and Maths/Accounts/Book Keeping.

  • Soldier Tradesmen (General):

    • Class 10th Pass: Simple pass. No aggregate percentage required, but must have scored min 33% in each subject.

  • Soldier Tradesmen (House Keeper & Mess Keeper):

    • Class 8th Pass: Simple pass. Must have scored min 33% in each subject. (School Leaving Certificate countersigned by DEO is mandatory).

Physical Standards

To clear the Physical Fitness Test (PFT), candidates must meet the minimum physical requirements.

For Male Candidates

  • Height: 160 cm.
    • Relaxation: 157 cm for residents of Eastern Himalayan Region (Sikkim, NE States, Hill Region of WB) and Gorkhas/Garhwalis/Ladakhis.

  • Chest: 77 cm (Unexpanded) with minimum 5 cm expansion (82 cm).

  • Weight: Proportionate to height and age as per Army Medical Standards.

For Female Candidates

Height: 157 cm.

Relaxation: 152 cm for residents of Eastern Himalayan Region and Gorkhas.

Chest: Minimum expansion of 5 cm.

Weight: Proportionate to height and age.

Selection Process

  • The recruitment drive follows a strict elimination process. Candidates must clear each stage to proceed to the next:
  • Document Verification (DV): Initial checking of original certificates.
  • Physical Fitness Test (PFT): Run (1.6 km), Pull-ups (Beam), Ditch Jump, and Zig-Zag Balance.
  • Physical Measurement Test (PMT): Height, Weight, and Chest measurement.
  • Medical Examination: Conducted by Army Medical Officers.
  • Written Exam: For medically fit candidates.

Warning: Do not carry fake or forged documents. This leads to immediate disqualification and legal action. Candidates must bring Originals + 2 Attested Photocopies of the following:

  • Admit Card / Application Form: (If applicable as per unit instructions).

  • Educational Certificates: Mark sheets and Board Certificates for 10th/12th/8th.

    • Note: Open School certificates must be countersigned by the BEO/DEO.

  • Domicile/Nativity Certificate: Issued by Tehsildar/DM with photograph.

  • Caste Certificate: Issued by Tehsildar/SDM with photograph.

  • Religion Certificate: Required if religion is not mentioned in the Caste Certificate.

  • Character Certificate: Issued within the last 6 months by Village Sarpanch, Municipal Corporation, or Police/School.

  • Unmarried Certificate: Issued within the last 6 months by Sarpanch/Municipal Corporation (for candidates under 21).

  • Relationship Certificate: Only for sons/daughters of Ex-Servicemen (issued by Record Office).

  • NCC/Sports Certificates: If applicable for bonus marks.

  • Aadhaar Card & PAN Card: For identity proof.

  • Photographs: 20 copies of un-attested passport-size color photos (white background).

The recruitment for the Territorial Army is conducted via Recruitment Rallies/Offline Application.
