Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), commonly known as Mahavitaran, has released the Apprentice Recruitment 2026 notification for its Baramati Circle in Pune district. The company invites applications from 10th pass + ITI qualified candidates for 99 Apprentice posts — 49 for Apprentice Electrician and 50 for Apprentice Lineman.

Online registration opens on 16 March 2026 at www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in and closes on 02 April 2026. Along with online registration, candidates must physically submit photocopies of required documents to the Superintending Engineer’s office in Baramati before the closing date. Selection is purely merit-based — no written test is conducted.

Important Conditions:

• Candidate must not have completed any previous apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Candidates who have already done an apprenticeship anywhere are not eligible.
• ITI certificate must be from a government-recognised institute.
• Candidates currently undergoing any apprenticeship training at any establishment are also not eligible to apply.

Age Limit

Age is calculated as on the application closing date. Candidates must carry age proof at the time of document verification.

Application Fee

No application fee. This recruitment is completely free for all categories.

Stipend During Apprenticeship

As per the Apprentices Act, 1961 and the Apprenticeship Rules, Mahavitaran pays a monthly stipend to selected apprentices throughout the training period. Stipend rates are fixed by the Central Government and revised periodically.

Selection Process

Mahavitaran Baramati selects apprentices strictly on merit basis — no written test, no interview.

Merit calculation:

• 50% weightage to marks obtained in 10th Standard (SSC)
• 50% weightage to marks obtained in ITI (all relevant semesters)
• A combined merit score is calculated and candidates are ranked accordingly

In case of tie: The candidate older in age gets preference. If date of birth is the same, the candidate who passed Matriculation/SSC earlier gets preference.

Selection Timeline:

PST, PET, and medical fitness norms are not part of apprenticeship recruitment. However, selected candidates must be medically fit for field duties.

This recruitment has a two-step application process. Both steps are compulsory.

Step 1 – Online Registration on Apprenticeship India Portal

Step 1 – Go to www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in (National Apprenticeship Portal / NAPS).

Step 2 – If not already registered, click on “Register” and create a new candidate account using your mobile number, Aadhaar number, and email ID.

Step 3 – Complete your full profile — personal details, educational qualification (10th and ITI details including trade, institution, marks, year of passing), and upload your photograph and signature.

Step 4 – Ensure your NAPS profile is 100% complete before searching for the Mahavitaran establishment.

Step 5 – Search for “Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd. – Baramati” in the establishment search and apply for the Apprentice Electrician or Apprentice Lineman post as applicable to your ITI trade.

Step 6 – Submit the online application and note down your NAPS Registration Number.

Key Rules Every Candidate Must Know

• Candidates must complete both the online registration AND physical document submission before the deadline. Incomplete applications will be rejected.
• Only Maharashtra domicile candidates are eligible for this circle-level Mahavitaran recruitment.
