Eligibility Criteria

Since this is a departmental exam, your service history within KVS is the most important factor. The cut-off date for calculating your age and service duration is January 1, 2026.

1. For Principal & Vice-Principal

  • Principal: You need at least 8 years of combined regular service. Alternatively, holding a Master’s degree with specific years of service in lower grades (like Vice-Principal) is required.
  • Vice-Principal: Open to PGTs with 5 years of regular service.

2. For PGT Posts (Teaching)

To apply for PGT, you generally need to be working as a TGT currently.

  • Service Requirement: At least 3 years of regular service as a TGT in KVS.
  • Academic: Master’s Degree in the relevant subject with at least 50% marks + B.Ed.

3. For TGT Posts (Teaching)

To apply for TGT, you usually come from the Primary Teacher (PRT) cadre.

  • Service Requirement: At least 5 years of regular service as a PRT.
  • Academic: Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant subject with at least 50% marks + B.Ed.
  • Mandatory: You must have qualified CTET (Paper-II).

4. For Non-Teaching Posts

  • Head Master: PRTs with at least 5 years of regular service and CTET Paper-I qualification.
  • Section/Finance Officer: Requires existing service as Assistant Section Officer or similar grades for 3-4 years depending on the specific post.
  • Secretariat Assistants: Based on 3 years of regular service in the lower grade (e.g., Sub-staff applying for JSA).

Selection Process

The selection isn’t just based on your service record; you have to pass a test.

1. Teaching Posts (Principal, VP, PGT, TGT)

  • Tier-I (Written Exam): A combination of Pen-Paper and OMR-based tests. It is 150 minutes long (2.5 hours).
  • Tier-II (Interview): Candidates who pass the written exam will be called for an interview.
  • Weightage: The final list is usually based on written marks and interview performance.

2. Non-Teaching Posts

  • Finance Officer / Section Officer: Written Exam + Interview.
  • ASO, SSA, JSA: Selection is based only on the Written Exam (Tier-I). There is no interview for these clerical posts.

Qualifying Marks:

You need to score a minimum of roughly 35% (General/OBC) or 33% (SC/ST/PwBD) to qualify, though this varies slightly by category.

How to Apply Online

The application process for LDE is different from open recruitment. You cannot just go to the website and register yourself directly; your Controlling Officer (usually your Principal or In-charge) starts the process.

Follow these steps:

  1. Contact Your Officer: Your Controlling Officer will log into the KVS portal and register you using your Employee Code.
  2. Receive the Link: Once they register you, a unique application link will be emailed to you.
  3. Fill the Form: Click the link, fill in your details, and upload your photo, signature, and certificates.
  4. Submit & Print: Submit the form online. Take a printout immediately.
  5. Verification: Hand over the hard copy of the application to your Controlling Officer. They will verify your service details, sign, and stamp it.
  6. Record Keeping: The verified hard copy stays with your unit/school for record purposes.

Note: Do not wait until the last day (Dec 26). The Controlling Officer must create your link by Dec 19, so approach them early!
