Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) has released the Special Recruitment Drive for Uniformed Services Combined Examination 2026 on 13 March 2026 under Advertisement No. 04/26. This drive fills 984 Group C uniformed services posts across seven categories — Constable Band (IRBn), Constable Bugler (IRBn), Constable (IRBn), Constable Civil Police (Male and Female), Fireman, and Special Tiger Guard (STPF).

Note: Out of 984 total vacancies, 787 posts are for APST candidates and 197 posts are for Unreserved (UR) category. 67 of the total posts are reserved for Ex-Servicemen (within the category totals above).

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification (All Posts)

All candidates must have passed Class X / Matric or equivalent from a recognised Board. Age, qualification, and other criteria are counted as on 10 April 2026 (application closing date).

Additional Trade Requirement:

• Constable Band (IRBn): 10th pass + working knowledge of playing a band instrument.
• Constable Bugler (IRBn): 10th pass + working knowledge of playing bugle.

All 7 posts in this recruitment carry the same pay scale — Level-3 of the Pay Matrix: ₹21,700 to ₹69,100 per month, plus applicable allowances as per Arunachal Pradesh Government rules.

Selection Process:

For Post Codes 5/26 to 10/26 (Constable and Fireman posts)

Stage I – Written Examination (Objective Type)

• Minimum qualifying marks: 33% aggregate
• No negative marking
• Shortlisting for Stage II: 1:3 ratio based on written exam marks

Stage II – PST, PET and Trade Test

• Constable Band & Bugler: Trade Test in playing band/bugle included
• Ex-Servicemen are exempted from PET and Trade Test but must qualify PST

Stage III – Medical Fitness Test

For Post Code 11/26 (Special Tiger Guard – STPF)

• Stage I: Written Examination (same pattern as above)
• Stage II: PST and PET as per prescribed standards

Tie-Breaker Note: PST, PET, Trade Test, and Medical Fitness Test are qualifying in nature only. Final merit is based on written exam marks and candidate’s preference of posts.

Step 1 – Visit the official website www.apssb.nic.in between 23 March 2026 (11:00 AM) and 10 April 2026 (3:00 PM).

Step 2 – Click on the link for “Special Recruitment Drive for Uniformed Services Combined Examination 2026 – Advt No. 04/26”.

Step 3 – Download and read the official notification PDF fully. Confirm your eligibility on age, qualification, physical standards, and category before proceeding.

Step 4 – Complete registration on the APSSB portal using your basic details, email ID, and mobile number.

Step 5 – Log in and fill in all personal, educational, and category details accurately.

Step 6 – Select your post preference carefully. Once submitted, post preference cannot be changed later.

Step 7 – Upload scanned passport-size photograph and signature in the prescribed format and size.

Step 8 – Pay the application fee online (₹150 for APST / ₹200 for UR). No offline payment accepted.

Step 9 – Submit the form and take a printout of the final submitted application and fee receipt — keep them safely till the entire recruitment process ends.

Step 10 – Download the Admit Card from apssb.nic.in when released. No individual admit card will be sent by post.

Key Rules Every Candidate Must Know

• Applications submitted in any mode other than online will be summarily rejected.
• Once the closing date passes, no modifications to the form are possible.
• If a candidate submits multiple applications for the same post, only the latest application will be considered.
• At the exam centre, carry the same Photo ID (Aadhaar/Voter ID/DL/PAN/Govt ID) that was used while filling the application form.
• Mobile phones, calculators, smart watches, and all electronic gadgets are strictly banned inside the exam hall.
